Winter LEADERS' Debate CAMP 2023

This 11-day immersive experience that will help your child develop the skills they need to become a confident and effective leader. Through a dynamic blend of physical, mental, and academic enrichment, campers will learn how to think critically, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively.

The Venue

Where is Winter Leaders' DEBATE Camp 2023?

Parco by Bonanza Khao Yai is set in 4000 rai of beautiful hills just outside of Khao Yai National Park. The spacious rooms and luxurious facilities provide the perfect setting for our leadership and debate camp. 

Who Can Attend Winter Leaders' Debate Camp 2023?

Camp is open to future leaders from 9-16 years old (Grade 3 and above). Academic classes are organized according to the campers’ age and ability level, and activities are tailored to suit children at any stage of development.

The Camp Experience

Debate

Debate for Beginners

  • Campers will develop their critical thinking and reasoning skills.
  • Campers will learn to approach a variety of delicate/controversial debate topics with empathy and respect.
  • Campers will build teamwork skills. Debate is often a team activity, and campers will learn how to work together to develop and deliver their arguments.
  • Campers will improve their public speaking, the art of persuasion and communication skills which gives campers the opportunity to practice speaking in front of an audience and communicating their ideas clearly and effectively.

Academics

Global Citizens: Reduce Inequality

  • Campers will learn about the different types of inequality, such as income inequality, gender inequality, and racial inequality.
  • Campers will understand the causes and consequences of inequality.
  • Campers will develop a sense of empathy for those affected by inequality.
  • Campers will be inspired to take action to reduce inequality in their own communities.

Leadership

Life Coaching: Creating and Leading Effective Teams

  • Campers will learn to build positive relationships and good habits.
  • They will build on their own strengths.
  • The curriculum focuses on interpersonal skills, public speaking and critical thinking.

Health & Fitness

Food & Exercise

  • Campers will work out every day, as well as play team sports.
  • Three nutritious meals will be provided every day.
  • There will be a registered nurse on site 24/7.
  • All campers will be provided with accident insurance.

Creating good habits and accountability by keeping the campers' rooms clean and tidy.

Global Citizens | Debate
In our Global Citizens class, students will focus on the 10th UN Sustainable Development Goal: Reduce Inequality. They will gain an understanding of the causes and effects of inequality, and by developing their empathy and soft skills, they will be inspired to take action to reduce inequalities that they find within their own communities.
Debate students, meanwhile, will gain the foundations of debating skills, including how to formulate an argument, and how to address controversial topics with respect and tact. Through developing these skills, they will gain the ability to speak and argue persuasively for a point.

A mixture of Thai and Western menu items with protein, carbohydrates and fresh fruit and vegetables will be provided.

Life Coaching | Debate
Our Life Coaching class is designed to bring out, reinforce and further develop the students' leadership skills, as well as providing them with more tools to enable them to become effective leaders. The students will practice and develop empathy and emotional intelligence, as well as goal-setting, planning and interpersonal skills.
At the same time, the debate students will practice the skills they acquired in the morning session in order to strengthen and reinforce their argumentative skills. They will be given the opportunity to participate in mock debates in order to use the skills that they are developing in a realistic setting.

Afternoon activities will focus on physical activity, leadership and teambuilding. They will be team sports, competitive team challenges, and much more.

Relationship and Reflection Time

Campers will be encouraged to consider all they have learned during the day, and how it can apply to their daily lives and their relationships with others.

Aimed at allowing campers to relax, these will be a range of enjoyable activities ranging from making things to outdoor cooking.

Intentional Time

Campers are free to choose what they do, whether relaxing, playing games, or completing homework.
